The End of Pico?

    I was on my Facebook when I saw PicoTalk post about Ameba Pico ending.

 

   I was really surprised when I saw this. I never imagined the day that Pico would be the one to leave us all, and not vice versa.  Since I already quit, it doesn't affect me as much, but it still upsets me that I spent so much time earning all my Ameba Gold and Gummies and then to just lose it all. I mentioned that I would go back on Ameba Pico every once in a while. It also upsets me that I don't get to even see my friends at all.  I can always still talk to some of them on Facebook, but it's just not the same.

    PicoTalk mentioned that Benry had created a petition to bring back Ameba Pico:

    I have a few of my own opinions and assumptions on this situation of CyberAgent closing down Ameba Pico.  In the information (first picture), the Pico Staff said that they were closing Ameba Pico because of "limited developer resources".  By that, I have a feeling that they meant they were low on money.  The way that online games earn money to be able to keep up their websites is by having the players pay for certain things.  The only way that Ameba Pico is making money is by us, the players, buying Ameba Gold.  Before I quit Pico, I realized that many prices were raising, whether it be Gummies or Ameba Gold.  CyberAgent was probably desperate for money, which is why they raised prices, in hopes of people buying Ameba Gold.  Many people would rather earn than buy, or do neither.  Because of this, CyberAgent doesn't have enough money to keep Ameba Pico going, so they have to shut it down.  I'm not sure if this is true, but it's just what I'm assuming.  Also, if this was the case, signing a petition wouldn't really do much honestly.  2,000 people are needed to sign the petition, but even if we do reach that goal, will that prevent CyberAgent from closing down Ameba Pico?  They still won't have enough money to keep up the game.

    I heard from my sister, who also plays Ameba Pico, that rumors were spreading around that this whole "Pico ending" is a prank.  Since Halloween is coming up, the Pico Staff decided to pull a "trick-or-treat" prank.  If that's true, that would be a pretty scary prank, but people would be grateful that Pico ending isn't true.  Regardless of whether it's true or not, if Pico is really ending, we should all be prepared for it.  We only have about two months left.  PicoTalk suggested that if you made some really close friends on Ameba Pico, that you should create Facebook accounts and add each other to keep in touch.  I've already exchanged phone numbers with some close friends of mine, and we talk on Facebook as well.  Of course, if you don't want to because of privacy reasons, that's fine too, but if you really want to continue talking to your friends, you can always try Facebook, or other online worldwide games and social networking websites.

    If Pico is really shutting down, I'll truly miss everyone for sure.  I've been playing Ameba Pico since 2010.  It would be a shame to lose everything I earned, both Gummies and Ameba Gold.  This is probably a reason why I never bought Ameba Gold, because spending money on a game that I wouldn't play for the rest of my life would be a waste (this is probably what most people thought also, which is another reason as to why CyberAgent isn't getting enough money).  I know I already quit, but I can't help but go on twice a month at least to just check things out.  This time, not only will I never be able to see my Pico again, but neither will anybody else.  It's really sad to say goodbye to Pico like this, especially for people who never thought about quitting, and those who just started the game.  Imagine the people who just joined Ameba Pico yesterday, and then suddenly today, they get the news that it's already closing down.  It's a shame really.

    As for this blog...The reason it was created was because I wanted to share information about Ameba Pico.  If it's closing down, there really isn't a need for this blog is there?  It would be sad to abandon the blog.  There isn't really anything else to write about, and who would read it then?

    Until the day that we figure out if Ameba Pico is really quitting or not, we'll just have to wait and see.

Happy (Almost) Halloween!

    Hi everyone!  Loofah here.  Even though I said I quit Pico, that doesn't mean I'm not going to post on the blog, even though in my last post, I said it was my final one (my mistake).  I just want to wish everyone a great Halloween (which is the 31st of October, on a Wednesday this year).  I also want to warn the dangers of Halloween.

    When people say Halloween, the first thing we think of are costumes and candy.  What's more fun than dressing up and getting free candy?  At the same time, we should be aware of certain dangers.  Halloween is not complete unless you go trick-or-treating.  Trick-or-treaters usually start around the evening and don't return home until dark.  Staying out really late is dangerous.  You never know who's on the streets and might try to kidnap you, especially during the night.  Also, try to avoid walking in the streets.  Walk on the sidewalk, because there could be a chance that cars that are driving might not see you.  Try to return home before it's completely dark.  With the candy, make sure you inspect everything before eating it.  Throw out any candy with wrappers that are open.  People might have done things to do the candy, and could be harmful if you eat it.  Those two are the only worries you should have on Halloween.  As long as you're not out too late, and watch what you're eating, there shouldn't be any problems.

    I went on Pico for about half an hour, just going around, exploring the parks that I haven't seen.  I haven't been on Pico in about a month now, and it's nice to see that a few of the parks on Pico are decorated for Halloween.  Since I don't have enough Ameba Gold to buy anything, I put on my old Halloween clothing from last year, and went around the parks snapping a few photos.

Hey guys..

Its Kat with another post sorry I haven't posted anything in a while! So lately I been leaving notes on my friends board saying I missed her , though is probably like 18 & older.  She lives in an apartment and probably has a job.I used to let's just say look at her logons' and they would always be like a week before i was online. Today I got 1 new message! Lets see who was it! -drum roll-

It was Coco! My friend I miss! How could this be most of the time she doesn't even have the time to look at my messages or reply to them. I saw a Pink heart balloon in my room I knew it was her! Coco is a really kawaii girl and just by looking at her pico's fashion sense, she loves to dress her pico in Pink.

My Final Post and Official Goodbye

    Hello my fellow Picos.  It's been a while since I've posted, but there's a reason for that.  The day has finally come.  The day where I, Loofah, who always said that I would never, ever quit Pico, even when I grow up to be eighty years old, is actually quitting.  Everybody is probably shocked, especially my close, dear friends.

    I hate having to quit so badly, but I have no choice.  Before school started, I laughed at everyone who said they were quitting once school started.  I thought it was silly to quit and say goodbye to everyone, just because handling both school work and Pico was too much.  I regret ever thinking that because I truly understand now.  I thought that I would be able to balance school work and Pico, but it's nearly impossible.  I barely have time to even sleep.  I'm even busy on the weekends doing homework.  When I finally get time to play Pico, it's so laggy that I can't stand it.  Maybe if Pico was less laggy, I would play every time I got a chance, but I really just gave up.  I've even sent letters to Pico asking them to help fix it, but they can't really do anything about it.  They think it's my computer that's the problem, but I know that I'm not the only Pico player that lags terribly.

    Since Pico is once again laggy as always, I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to anyone.  I don't think many people even know that I quit.  I've written in my details a shorter and simpler version of this post.  The only way I can really give a formal goodbye, is just here, in general terms.

    To all of my friends, I don't even know what to say.  You guys are so supportive and loving.  I've had so many laughs and tears, all thanks to you guys.  I really don't think I could have asked for better friends, except the fact that I wish I could meet you guys in real life.  I hate saying goodbye so badly, because I don't want to leave all my Pico friends behind.  I hate saying goodbye so much.  If I had a choice, I obviously would never want to quit, mainly because of my amazing friends on Pico.  I've shared so many secrets with you guys, secrets that even my friends in real life don't know about, but that's because you guys never judged me and treated me the same, regardless.  You guys are so special, and I don't think I can ever forget any of you.

    To my Loofah "fans", thank you all for coming to my Yes or No Games and Don't Get Caught Games.  I had a lot of fun hosting those, and I want to thank you all for coming and having a good time.  I enjoyed being able to explore Pico, and then have strangers come up to me saying they loved my game events.  I also want to thank those that gave me credit for my game when hosting it, or backing me up when I went to go yell at someone who didn't :P  Obviously, my "fame" has died down since I haven't created a single event in months, but I hope my legacy of these games will continue on.

    To the Pico Forever blog, this blog is so special to me.  I loved being able to post things ranging from meaningful things, to anything else really.  It really amazes me to see that this blog has over 8,000 page views and 16 followers.  I want to thank everyone who reads this blog, and actually care about what we, the writers, have to say.  The ones who I want to thank the most are Kat and Kitty.  When I first started the blog, I felt kind of lonely.  I was the only one posting things.  I'm so glad that I asked Kat and Kitty to join and help out.  They helped kept the blog alive when I was busy, and vice versa.  I owe you two so much.  You guys are not only amazing writers for Pico Forever, but also two of my closest friends.  I couldn't have asked for better writers and friends.  I can't even explain how grateful I am for you two.  I apologize for having to leave the blog to you two, even though I was the one who started it after all.  I hope you guys still remember the account information so feel free to add or change anything if you want, because this blog belongs to you guys too.

    Finally, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has made my Pico life so memorable.  I truly, will never, ever, forget my Pico experience.  They were the happiest two years of my life.  I'm so glad to have met the people I call my friends today.  I loved being able to share stories and listen to some in return from you guys.  I will never forget Mr. Pole, my one and only love, from the English Park.  This is just really heart-breaking.  I'm tearing up as I write this right now.  I know this is a long post, but that's only because I had so much to say.  In fact, there is probably even more I can say, because I don't even know where to begin or end.  If possible, I might come back on Pico every once in a while, but rarely, and probably for not even longer than five minutes.

I try to do it every year but it turns out none shows up! But Today I ganged up with Rawr and we are determined to do this! We have our own version of alice in Wonderland Tea Party this year we are doing the Chinese Alice in Wonderland tea party!
